Our Mission

The Tattered Winds Quintet was formed out of the ashes of the 2020 Covid-19 Pandemic. We all have varying degrees of musical education, but none of us work in the music industry professionally. For almost all of us, at some point, our instruments were stuffed into a dark corner while we explored other fruitful, career opportunities. However, 2020 gave us the time to bond with our instruments, and start building a bond as a quintet. While our french horn player, Dilara, has never put her instrument down – the majority of us felt tattered and a bit rusty before banding together. Each and every time we assemble, we do so in the hopes of playing music for our own enjoyment but also to reach out and share our talents with the community. We strive to play showtunes, classical, and festive music for ourselves, friends, family, and local community facilities such as senior centers.
