Our Mission

Each time we come together, it’s first and foremost for our own joy, but with a greater hope of bringing that joy to our community. To us, ‘tattered’ means well-loved and worth experiencing. We’re not here to be flawless, instead we’re here to be present, to share, and to always keep the music going.

Our History

We all come from various backgrounds and walk unique career paths, but we all have one thing in common – each of us hold music near and dear to our hearts. Several of us once pursued music as a career in our past lives, but were badly burned and bruised from the crushing weight of anxiety in the pursuit of perfectionism, and walked away entirely from music. Others pursued entirely different careers altogether, and still held on to their love and appreciation for music.

The Tattered Winds Quintet officially was formed out of the ashes of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. When the world was dark and quiet, we found time to connect with our instruments, but also with each other. Out of that stillness, a quintet emerged with one simple purpose: to enjoy the music and the company we share.
